For some of us, today’s the third day in a long weekend. It is for my daughter, in fact, still asleep in her room. For my dog, Rocky, and my houseguest, Tucker the dog, today is the same as yesterday, the same same as tomorrow; so, they woke me up at 7, body clocks alerting them it was time for their meal of the day. No matter what time I go to bed the night before, I wake up and feed the dogs. And then, in my glamorous suit of my plaid pajamas and bedhead, I walk the dogs. This, for me, is everyday, whether its a bank holiday, a hurricane or just unseasonable weather. The dogs keep me in line. And thank goodness for that.
RIP Norma McCorvey. And thank you for Roe v Wade.

The news of the Golden Girls Cafe called the Rue La Rue Cafe opening in Manhattan was all over my Facebook feed this weekend. It’s so exciting. What a wonderful homage.
Oh Uber. Now we’re learning that the boys behind the scenes don’t like it when the girls take the wheel. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Susan Fowler has laid it out, and you will want to take the time to read through her experience. And then rate Uber.
“When I joined Uber, the organization I was part of was over 25% women. By the time I was trying to transfer to another eng organization, this number had dropped down to less than 6%. Women were transferring out of the organization, and those who couldn’t transfer were quitting or preparing to quit. There were two major reasons for this: there was the organizational chaos, and there was also the sexism within the organization.” Susan J. Fowler.
One woman. One man. Same position. Salaries? Well. Talk about a wage gap.
