I’ve been a little inconsistent recently with posting; that’s the reward of doing a long term assignment. However, I’m coming back to you, real soon, on a daily basis as one project ends and another, different kind begins. For now, the short version of this is: reclaim the words that are used to vilify women, recognize those that empower you and acknowledge who don’t.

Annabella Sciorra: “And I got no relief from seeing this monster walk into court, then sneak out the back door after posting a million dollar bond. All that says is, money buys VIP treatment in the justice system no matter how serious or violent the crimes.”

Cameron Esposito: “This huge fucking problem. It’s a problem with fucking that blurs a line between assault and sex that should never be blurred because assault is not sex. It’s power and it’s brutality. It’s not sex.”

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie: “You’re not allowed to say you don’t know, and you’re not allowed to be curious. There are many circles in which asking a black woman about her hair is considered very offensive. Now, there are ways to do that and be offensive, but half the time it’s that people are just sanctioned and left confused. I just feel like we can’t even talk about race.”

Jessica Bennett: “On Thursday night, accepting a Television Academy Honors award for “Full Frontal’s” #MeToo coverage, Samantha Bee said: “We spent the day wrestling with the repercussions of one bad word when we all should have spent the day incensed that as a nation we are wrenching children from their parents.” Thoughts?”

Maeve Higgins: “There’s this feeling I get in Cobh, in Ireland, particularly among women, and I wish you could feel it, too, because it’s extraordinary. It’s something like electricity but really a more ancient source of power, like fire, and the thing about fire, of course, is that it’s catching.”

Serena Wiliams. That is all.

Chemo may no longer be the path to health.

Go see the RBG documentary.

And now have a laugh with Naomi Ekperigin.
