I’ve been a little inconsistent recently with posting; that’s the reward of doing a long term assignment. However, I’m coming back to you, real soon, on a daily basis as one project ends and another, different kind begins. For now, the short version of this is: reclaim the words that are used to vilify women, recognize those that empower you and acknowledge who don’t.

Jessica Bennett: “On Thursday night, accepting a Television Academy Honors award for “Full Frontal’s” #MeToo coverage, Samantha Bee said: “We spent the day wrestling with the repercussions of one bad word when we all should have spent the day incensed that as a nation we are wrenching children from their parents.” Thoughts?”

Maeve Higgins: “There’s this feeling I get in Cobh, in Ireland, particularly among women, and I wish you could feel it, too, because it’s extraordinary. It’s something like electricity but really a more ancient source of power, like fire, and the thing about fire, of course, is that it’s catching.”
