I will be posting sporadically in the coming weeks. I am now 11 days away from driving The Teenager to her dorm. My mother is coming to spend three weeks in my apartment, overlapping a bit with The Teenager. I’m working furiously on a writing project that I believe in. And then there is everything else, the personal as well as the political. I’m here though, I’m here.

Elections are on everyone’s minds, well those of us concerned for the future of this country. In New York, we are in countdown to the primaries on September 13. But the rest of the US is making herstory over and over again. It’s encouraging, especially with the shit show that the White House is at the moment. That a reality star is squaring off with another reality force is appalling. That there will be no repercussions for the latest scandal is disheartening. Thankfully, there is good in this country, and those people? They’re poised to make change.

Christine Hallquist and Vermont are doing it.

As is Jahana Hayes, in Connecticut.
