My friend Wendy texted me yesterday and asked me if I’d be up for going to the March at Columbus Circle at 2. It was early and all I had to do was already done and so, I said yes.

I’m glad I did. In this new world order, a YES is a helpful tool. As I posted yesterday on BARB, there was an organized and very national rally scheduled for Monday, December 12, set up by Women And Allies; women and men in 18 cities showed up in force. Wendy and I walked over to 57th street and 5th avenue and found a few hundred New Yorkers gathered. It felt empowering to be a part of a community of protest. It felt important, for me, to show up. 

I urge you all to take the time to consider what you can do, whether from your keyboard, on the phone or in person, to protest, to make your voice heard. We are standing on the precipice of great change, and while there are Americans who believe change will be a welcome ideal, for those of us who are advocates for humanity understand that DJT’s administration is not interested in the version of change that rests on HOPE.
