Hello to 2017.

Yesterday, while knitting with Sarah at Irving Farm, I held a baby. Not any baby. The three-month old daughter of an old friend of mine, Juan. In general, I do not like children (unmannered, wild, have lice)  and babies frighten me (what if I drop the baby? what happens when if the baby starts to cry? what, what, what?). But, holding this little girl, I felt a moment of respite from my curmudgeon-y anti-baby disposition. I felt free. I felt so happy. I felt whole and wonderful and well.

That’s the power of a baby. If you have an opportunity to hold a baby, just do it. It will make your day. Or year, thus far!

I always enjoy when Leslie Jones uses the reach of Twitter to dress down racism. In this case, Simon and Schuster, who have give Milo Yiannopoulos a generous book deal. “Yea, but you still help them spread their hate to even more people.” And she should know, as this man led the charge for a wave of harassment against her.

Elizabeth Warren is our watchdog.  “Who, exactly, thinks that the problem with Washington is that we have too many rules requiring the gov to act ethically?”

It was so sad when Debbie Reynolds passed away, a day after her child, Carrie Fisher died, and yet, it made sense. And apparently, it is not uncommon.

Pocket vibrators! And more!

Don’t forget to get/knit your PussyHat.  If pink is not your color, you have options!

And now, have a laugh with Carolyn Rhea.
